  • Brenda Montaño is a Xicana Califas Indigena, mother, traditional birth worker, educator and media creator. Zines with Sol is a platform that shines light on DIY media creations focused on liberation parenting, body autonomy, radical birth work and decolonial medicines. Her work is grounded in Xicanisma, environmentalism, Reproductive Justice and grassroots organizing. Outside of media making and birth work, Brenda loves spending time with her plantitas and ancestor trees, laughing with her community, and learning new, necessary, self sustaining skills in preparation for the (r)evolution.

  • Can Foster (she/her), a Ohlone land transplant who lives on Karuk Land, now known as Weed, California has an A.S. Degree in Human Development with a focus on Early Childhood Education, as well as a minor in Ethnic Studies. She is a proud mother of 6. She is a Youth Program Director and a dedicated community organizer at Sol Collective—an inspiring community based organization that fosters art, culture, and activism. Can finds joy in engaging in meaningful conversations about Social Justice and equitable practices within her community, gardening, cooking, crafting, reading zines, and hanging out with her loved ones. As a mother of six, Can Foster is a living embodiment of resilience. She currently works as a Youth Program Director at Sol Collective, an inspiring community-based organization that weaves together art, culture, and activism. Within the collective space, Can Foster has sparked transformational experiences for young minds, fostering a sense of capability and autonomy among the youth that she works alongside. Foster's engagement in the realm of social justice is a huge part of her identity. She enjoys being a part of thought-provoking dialogues in hopes to drive equitable practices within her community and surroundings.

  • Renée Camila (she/ella) is a bilingual clinical herbalist, traditional birthworker, folk educator, and mother. As the daughter of Nicaraguan immigrants, her practice La Yerba Buena Herbs draws from her Mediterranean and Indigenous (Chorotega) ancestry. She is dedicated to the empowerment and healing offered by traditional medicines rooted in a decolonial lens. As a traditional healing practitioner, she recognizes the interconnectivity between the health of the individual, the health of our communities, and the health of the Earth. She understands the birth ceremony as a reflection of these relations and sees traditional birthwork as a radical tool for ancestral healing with the potential to cultivate resilience in our fight against systemic oppression. She is one of the hosts of the Indigenous centered radio show and podcast The Herbal Highway and is co-founder of the queer-led and social justice oriented Now and Then Herb School.
